ABOUT THE GOVERNOR’S JOB HUNT

Has it Been Successful?

More than 500,000 young people have found employment since the program began in 1981. The program serves as a national model, receiving Presidential Awards in 1983 and 1993, and has been replicated in several cities across the United States.

Who is Eligible?

Young adults, ages 16 through 24, are eligible to participate in the Job Hunt. Economic circumstances are not a consideration for program registrants. Proof of age and citizenship are required. This is a free referral service to young adults and employers. Other employment and educational opportunities may be available for qualified youth.

What Types of Positions are Available?

Employers throughout Colorado provide a diverse selection of jobs including clerical, customer service, labor, and sales. There are both full- and part-time jobs available for young adults.

How does it work?

All young adults need to create an account in Connecting Colorado. The Governor’s Job Hunt staff at PPWFC will then assist you with essential job-search activities, such as developing a résumé, interview-skills training, clear guidance about professional conduct expectations while on the job, and other job-readiness tools.
