This Employers FAQ is for Colorado Springs and El Paso County and Teller County businesses in Colorado. The Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWFC) offers no-cost hiring support, candidate screening, job postings, hiring events, job fairs, and workforce training programs.

🔹 What free services does PPWFC offer to employers?

PPWFC provides no-cost job postings, talent matching, hiring events, job fairs, on-the-job training reimbursements to qualified businesses, and regional labor market data to help you hire and retain talent.

🔹 How do I post a job opening through the Pikes Peak Workforce Center?

You can post job listings on ConnectingColorado.gov at no cost. We’ll help you set up your employer account and start recruiting.

🔹 Can PPWFC help me find qualified local candidates?

Yes! We can screen applicants, refer top candidates, and support you throughout the hiring process.

🔹 What is Work-Based Learning and how can my business benefit?

Work-Based Learning includes internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training. If qualified, your business could be reimbursed for part of a new hire’s wages while they learn the job.

🔹 Are there funding programs to help me train new employees?

Yes. The Pikes Peak Workforce Center offers Employee Development Funds to help local businesses cover the cost of training current employees, including programs that lead to industry-recognized credentials or in-demand skills.

These funds—supported by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act—allow employers to choose training that fits their needs and can be used for a wide range of industries and skill development.

These Employee Development Funds are usually offered in January and or July of each year, based on availability of federal funds.
