Workshops for Career Planning and Job Search
PPWFC offers a wide variety of job search workshops, at no charge, to help you conduct a successful job search.

Youth workshops are designated by a "YZ" before the name of the workshop.
Unless otherwise noted, all workshops and hiring events are held at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center's main office in the Citizens Service Center, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, 80907.
- Please make arrangements for child care during all workshops and lab visits.
- Participants who arrive more than five minutes late for a workshop will be asked to reschedule.
Adult Information Session
Waiting for the right time? What if now is the right time to get real help? Do you need help preparing for employment and job search? Do you want to upgrade your skills through training? You may qualify for training, financial assistance and one-on-one coaching through one of the Pikes Peak Workforce Center's programs. Offered the first and third Mondays of each month, 9 a.m. to noon, this inspirational, invigorating and rejuvenating Information Session will get you started. The Adult Information Session is offered on a first-come, first-served basis; no registration is required. Because space is limited to 30 attendees, please arrive as early as possible to be placed on the "Adult Information Session" list. The Pikes Peak Workforce Center's doors open at 8:00 a.m. The session will be closed when we reach 30 participants.
H.I.R.E.D. (Helpful Internet Resources on Employment & Development) Have you been spinning your wheels on the job search path and not getting results? This workshop is the answer! Learn how to search for jobs on the internet, research companies, and how to use Labor Market Information to market your transferable skills and gain access to new career opportunities!
One-On-One Résumé Review By appointment only. Create a Better Résumé workshop is a prerequisite to the one-on-one résumé review.
Create a Better Résumé Is your résumé a report or an advertisement? Having trouble getting calls from your résumé? This workshop presents ideas and suggestions on how to spruce up your résumé. Provides intermediate to advanced résumé guidance.
Financial Literacy Series The Financial Literacy series is designed to strengthen your skills at managing personal finances and taking control of your financial decision making to assure a secure financial future. Personal financial management is important for people of all income in all life stages. Personal financial management is a set of skills that must be learned. These skills are essential for long-term success at managing personal finances to achieve goals. Spending less than earning is one definition of financial success. You can enhance your financial success by applying financial knowledge and skills to decision making with your money: utilizing tools and techniques to maximize resources; and managing risk or loss to assure long term financial stability. There are 5 modules in this series, but you are not required to attend all modules. Preparing for the Interview Interviewing begins with research and practice. Learn how to prepare for an interview, as well as how to present yourself in the best way possible!
YZ: Résumé Writing and Filling Out Applications Get your résumé right and get the job! We can help you develop an impressive résumé. Have you struggled to put together a solid résumé when your work history is spotty or even nonexistent? Then this is the workshop for you! **These workshops take place at Imagination Celebration in the Citadel Mall.** Must be 16 - 24 years old.
Ask A Career Consultant Have you attended PPWFC’s workshops for help with career planning, job search, resume writing, and interviewing skills but still not met with success? Career Consultants are available to answer your questions and offer suggestions. Career Consultants are available on Thursdays, by appointment only. The Intro to PPWFC Orientation is a pre-requisite to be seen by a PPWFC Career Consultant.

Job Search 401: LinkedIn and Your Job Search LinkedIn is now a way of life, and if you are not using it in your job search you are missing opportunities. Learn how to create a dynamic LinkedIn profile and how to use the site effectively. Please create a LinkedIn account prior to attending this workshop.
Federal Jobs: How to Apply! The Federal Job Application process can be complicated and lengthy. This session provides beginner to intermediate level tips on navigating the process. Veterans have priority.
Intro to PPWFC Orientation Learn how the services available at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center and throughout the community can help you expand your job search techniques!
Microsoft Word Basics Covers word processing, cut/paste, and font changes. PREREQUISITE: Must have attended Basic Computer Skills or must have basic knowledge of how to use a mouse, Windows, and ability to type a minimum of 10 words per minute on the keyboard. Build a Basic Résumé Not sure how to create a résumé? Been quite a while since you updated your résumé? This workshop provides a hands-on opportunity to build a basic résumé. Bring a list of previous employers and education, as well as a flash drive on which to save your résumé. PREREQUISITE: Must have basic computer and internet skills.
Branding and Networking Your Way to Your Next Job! Learn to identify and define your brand and how to leverage your brand in a number of networking situations to help you find your next job!
How to Make the Job Fair Work for You! There's more to a Job Fair than just showing up.
